Delegation Practice Tests
Improve workflow, safety, and team coordination by mastering which tasks can be delegated, to whom, and under what clinical conditions.
Scenario-based questions challenge you to identify the safest delegation choice while considering stability, predictability of outcomes, scope of practice, and time-sensitive priorities. You’ll navigate common NCLEX patterns: a post-op client with new drainage, a diabetic patient with fluctuating glucose, an elderly client with sudden confusion, or a cardiac patient reporting new chest discomfort. Items require you to determine whether the RN should assess first, intervene directly, or delegate supportive tasks while maintaining supervision and accountability.
Expect select-all items on appropriate supervision, communication (including SBAR direction giving), and delegation pitfalls such as assigning beyond scope, delegating assessments, or relying on unlicensed personnel for clinical judgment. Situated under Management of Care → Establishing Priorities → Delegation, this practice set sharpens safe teamwork, critical thinking, and real-world decision-making.
